The stage will soon be set for a second season of performing arts in the 200 block of F Street on Salida’s summertime pedestrian plaza.

By late next week, it is expected this stack of metal that constitutes the Salida Community Stage will turn into a large, elevated stage, ready to host community members and artists in all the performing, visual, and creative arts.

Purchased by the City of Salida in the summer of 2022, the stage is named in honor of “Magic Steve” Kucera, a longtime Salida Circus performer who died suddenly on May 15, 2022.

According to Tina Gramann, City of Salida Community Engagement coordinator, Arts & Culture Division, staff will put all the pieces together next week and expect to have it open for the June 10-11 weekend. Community volunteers, Hannah Michaels and Adrian Kuhn are overseeing the stage and the calendar to sign up to use the space is here.

According to the community organizers, “You can throw your own F Street block party, host performance gatherings of all ages, teach yoga classes, display visual art, and more.” Use is FREE and open to the public however, performers must sign a waiver for use of stage.

Of further note: A PA system sponsored by The Salida Circus will also be available for use at the Magic Steve Stage. Details of how to reserve the system will be provided at the time of reservation.
