The Chaffee County Marijuana Excise Tax Advisory Board (METAB) will meet from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1 via Zoom. On the agenda will be a discussion of a Public Health Agency letter regarding the mid-year report.

The METAB was formed on July 25, 2017. The Chaffee County Board of Commissioners (“BoCC”) adopted Resolution 2017-46 establishing the Marijuana Excise Tax Advisory Board (“METAB”) and it is responsible for assigning for the public good the taxes on the marijuana grown and wholesaled in the county. The focus is on human services and youth support programs.

The METAB consist of no fewer than five members, with one member from the Chaffee County Board of Commissioners, one member from  Chaffee County Executive Director of Human Services, and one member representing a marijuana cultivation facility subject to Chaffee County excise tax. Other board members include county law enforcement agencies and community members having knowledge of existing youth organizations or County programs.  The County Financial Officer Dan Short serves as an advisory to the Board.
