Wonder where everyone is this weekend?  There’s a good chance they’re out at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds for the Annual Home and Garden Show.

It’s a great excuse to put aside weekend chores and bring the whole family.  New this year is a day’s worth of fun activities for children in the South Building,  The two-day show runs until 5:00 p.m. today; Sunday hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and there’s plenty of free parking.

Next door in the North Building there are dozens of booths hosted by vendors with products and services for your project.  Whether it’s new garage doors, landscaping, window treatments, flooring, or lighting, chances are you’ll find the resources here.

You’re bound to get hungry walking around, but not to worry, right there in the parking lot are food trucks and inside, a pop-up coffee cart to refuel you. There are free giveaways and raffle prizes throughout the show, making it well worth a visit.

In addition to gathering ideas on how to improve your home, it’s also a great social outlet – one sorely needed after two years of the pandemic.

Since 9:00 a.m. this morning, a steady stream of people from all ends of the county was seen catching up with folks they may not have seen face to face for some time. The space is well-ventilated and there’s plenty of room to move about easily.

At the Ark Valley Voice booth (North-10), a lot of familiar faces and supporters stopped to say hi.  In addition, dozens of people, new to Chaffee County came by to meet the staff and learn how they might be more informed about the news that matters in their new home place and how best to get connected with the community.
