Chaffee County Veterans Memorial Park in Poncha Springs is one of three sites in Chaffee County where Memorial Day Observances will be held this coming Monday, May 31. The observance begins at 10:00 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Park at the crossroads of U.S.50 and U.S. 285.
The presentation will be led by American Legion Post No. 64, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3820, and Lt. Harry T. Ostrum Jr. Detachment No. 1420 of the Marine Corp League.
Following the short program at the Veterans Park, the group will proceed to the Poncha Springs upper cemetery, and then to Fairview Cemetery. Each of the three ceremonies will conclude with a three-volley salute by the honor guard, and the playing of taps.
