On Monday, December 10, Monarch Mountain is hosting a food drive, that will let patrons to ski for free in exchange for canned goods or a cash donation. Monarch requests at least two canned goods from every individual who arrives hoping to ski or snowboard for free. Cash donations are optional.

The annual event is an effort to raise money and collect food for local shelters and to support those who are in need for the holidays.

All canned goods will be donated to The First Presbyterian Church and The Salida Grainery food banks. Cash donations will be gifted to the Boys and Girls Club of Chaffee County.

Rental equipment will be available for purchase. Donations – whether canned food or cash – can only be exchanged for the cost of regular full-day lift-ticket; which is a $90 value.
