Monarch Mountain is exchanging free skiing for non-perishable food items or cash donations, from visitors to the ski area. In exchange, visitors will receive a complimentary lift ticket valued at $94 for skiing or snowboarding that day.

The non-perishable food collection will be shared between Salida’s Grainery and 1st Presbyterian Church food banks. Cash contributions will be donated directly to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chaffee County.

Event Coordinator Kathryn Wadsworth sad, “Last year, through the generosity of our skiing and snowboarding guests, Monarch collected close to 8,000 lbs of food for the local food banks and $2,251 in cash for the Boys and Girls Club,”

Wadsworth continued, “We’re excited to offer a free day of skiing again this season and encourage everyone to be generous with their contributions towards a free lift ticket in support of our local organizations that are so important to our community.”

The message from Monarch marketing is “Come enjoy a day of free skiing and help Monarch Mountain beat last year’s donations!”
