Participants will learn about the causes of  mental health crises, how to recognize signs of a crisis, and steps to take to when faced with a crisis.

Organizers say they hope participants will come away with a better understanding and learn about de-escalation techniques, communication, and advocacy skills, community resources, problem-solving, crisis prevention, and how to create a crisis plan.

NAMI, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization, is dedicated to building better lives for Americans affected by mental illness.

Through gaining insight, hope, acceptance, compassion, and confidence, NAMI changes lives and offers opportunities for those experiencing or caring for someone with a mental illness.
