The second annual ‘Through the Artist’s Eyes’ art show and sale is scheduled for Friday Nov. 9 at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall. An Artists for Conservation project of the Central Colorado Conservancy, the show will feature 12 local artists showing about 35 pieces of art ranging from oils and pastels to watercolors, tapestry, mixed media photography, ink, wood and metal.

Oil painting by Sue Ann Hum, titled “Confetti.”

“This is an amazing partnership between artists and the conservation community,’ said Conservancy Director Andrew Mackie. “We share the same values, appreciate our unique natural and agricultural resources. This is also a great addition to our Annual Event, which is our biggest and most important event each year.”

The event itself combines the art show and sale with a silent auction, catered food, and includes a program featuring nationally-known ecologist and naturalist author Robert Michael Pyle. It will also honor a local family with the Central Colorado Conservancy 2018 Conservationist Award.

All the artists are donating 40 percent of the art sale proceeds to the nonprofit Central Colorado Conservancy. Event tickets can be purchased on the organizations website at: Central Colorado Conservancy, or at their upstairs office at 128 East First St., Salida.
