The 2022 mid-term elections were back in November, and many Chaffee County residents may assume, incorrectly, that those elected officials are already at work. Not so if they are new to their positions.
The next step in our county’s democratic process is for those elected officials to be sworn in and that happens next week.

The swearing-in of new County Commissioner PT Wood, as well as other county elected officials, is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 10 in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room at 104 Crestone Avenue, Salida.
Being officially sworn in that morning will be:
PT Wood — incoming county commissioner
Lori Mitchell — returning county clerk and recorder
John Spezze — returning county sheriff
Rick Roberts — incoming county assessor
Jeff Graf — returning county coroner
Dee Dee Copper — returning county treasurer
Following the swearing-in, the Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) will begin its regular meeting at 9:00 a.m.
Chaffee residents can attend in person, or they can view the swearing-in and BoCC meeting on Zoom.
