In case you missed Friday’s abundance of Paddlefest activities, don’t fret, there’s plenty more on the docket for the remainder of the weekend.

Paddelfest’s second full day, Saturday, features a variety of free and registration-exempt events. The event schedule caters not only to adults but to the whole family. Check out the complete list of family-friendly events. 

Paddle enthusiasts can meet in front of CKS (327 E. Main St.) at 11 a.m. Saturday to enjoy a group paddle session. The group will decide on the section of river to run. CKS encourages car-pooling as there will not be a shuttle provided. The event is free-of-charge and no registration is required.

Those looking to sneak in a quick workout can attend Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga with Angie Hildebrand at 9 or 10 a.m. on Saturday. There is a $20 charge for each session. The sessions will be held at the Buena Vista Town Pond on the corner of U.S. 24 and E. Main Street.

“Find balance with your external and internal worlds through SUP Yoga,” reads the event description. The workout is suitable for all ages. Those interested can register online by clicking here.

Also on Saturday, Colorado Kayak Supply (CKS) on E. Main Street, is holding it’s annual, day-long sale and gear swap.

For the competitive spirits, there are numerous competitions slated for Saturday and Sunday. The Yucca Classic Disc Golf Tournament begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning. Featuring men’s advanced and intermediate, women and youth divisions, there is plenty of competitive fun to go around. Last minute registration for the event can be accessed here. The cost is $10 for youth and $20 for Adults.

Stand Up Paddleboarders can register for the SUPHill – Downhill race slated for 5 p,m, on Saturday at the Buena Vista River Park. The race begins with an upstream paddling section circumventing buoys. The race finishes with a downriver section also around buoys with a finish line in South Main.

Participants must meet at the South Main River Park at 4 p.m. for heat registration. Bring your boards and your gear when you register: personal flotation devices (PFD’s) and helmets are required. No leashes are allowed. The  SUPHill – Downhill is not a beginner’s race. The cost to participate is $35 and participants can register here.

Saturday evening residents and visitors can enjoy free live music on the banks of the Arkansas River. Colorado’s own, Hairitage, will perform classic rock. If you can jam to Motley Crue, Black Sabbath, Journey, Warrant and Led Zeppelin, then be at The Beach at South Main between 6:30 and 10 p.m.

The Lariat (206 E. Main) will keep the night alive following the Hairitage’s performance. Featuring a state-of-the-art sound system, performance stage, and lively atmosphere, The Lariat offers some of the best-nightlife in the High Rockies. Knowles, with an “eclectic take on Blues and Rock” (per the Lariat), will kick off his show at 10 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the door.

Just a short walk from The Beach, the Surf Hotel, on South Main, is offering a show of its own on Saturday night, starting at 10 p.m. The Surf Hotel’s Ivy Ballroom will present A Shadow of Jaguar. Known for hazy rock-n-roll inspired by the 1970s, A Shadow of Jaguar “blends bare-knuckle and raw gritty rock with tongue-in-cheek lyricism,” (Per the Ivy Ballroom). Tickets are $10 and can be bought by visiting the Ivy Ballroom’s website.
