The Alliance is partnering with A1 Auto Service in Salida this holiday season in offering customers and community members the chance to pay it forward by purchasing a $25 gas card for a survivor of domestic violence.
The Alliance provides survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault with crisis intervention, legal advocacy, adult and youth support counseling, community education and short and long-term housing assistance. All services are free and confidential.
Advocate at The Alliance Shannon Courtney said, “Often times, when a victim of domestic violence is needing to get out of a dangerous situation, it happens very quickly. If there has been financial abuse in the relationship or there is a rapid departure, a tank of gas can be critical in getting to safety.”
A customer filling their tank with gas (or any community member) is able to purchase a gas card by stopping by A1 Auto, Monday through Friday anytime from 7 a.m. 6 p.m. or by visiting Saturday or Sunday anytime from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A1 Auto is located at 445 W. Highway 50, across from the Aquatic Center in Salida.
