Coming up next weekend is the second annual Rally in the Valley Tournament scheduled for Sept. 16 -18 in Centennial Park in Salida. This is a pickleball showdown put on by the local Peak to Peak Pickleball Club. In 2021 in its first year of tournament play, the event proved to be an enormous crowd-pleaser.
More than 200 entrants are participating from 16 states. The tournament is purposely organized to include all levels of play from novice players to 4.5 level rated players.

Organizers work closely with the Salida Recreation Department to create a professional sports event. The event won’t just feature pickleball – it includes vendors, food trucks, a silent auction and spectators galore.
For the uninitiated, pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in America.
The Peak to Peak Pickleball Club recently received a quarterly grant in December, 2021 from the Women Who Care group.
