The Chaffee County Planning Commission will begin its regular meeting at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29 with a swearing in of the new planning commission members. Being sworn into three-year terms will be Dave Kelly and Hank Held, with Marjo Curgus and Anderson Horne assuming one-year terms. One appointment will be made to the county’s Transportation Board and three members of the Planning Commission will be appointed to the Regional Planning Commission.

The meeting agenda includes several public hearings for major subdivision applications. They include; the Centerville Ranch Major Subdivision at 18010 U.S. 285 in Nathrop. The Centerville Ranch project by applicants George Love, Don Weeke and Don Love would divide the 502.34 rural acreage into 210 lots with a minimum lot size of 1.04 acres. Currently the county zoning limits rural lot sizes to a minimum of two acres.

Another, much smaller major subdivision proposed by Hutchinson LLC, called the Larks Perch Major Subdivision and located at 9479 Hutchinson, would divide the 36.87 acre rural-zone parcel into 14 lots.

Public hearings for proposed minor subdivision projects up for public hearing include the Ruby Mountain Minor Subdivision, the Lion Mountain Minor Subdivision proposal.

Also on the agenda, the resolution recommending that denial of Alison Brown’s kennel application for 11600 Antelope Rd, prepared as a result of the Planning Commission’s Jan. 15 special meeting.
