Unlike recent marathon meetings, the Chaffee County Planning Commission regular meeting, scheduled for 6 p.m. on Feb. 26 in the commissioner’s meeting room at 104 Crestone Ave., Salida appears to be a lighter agenda. Three public hearings are scheduled, including one that might amend the current Chaffee County Land Use Code for regulation of medical and retail marijuana retail centers.

The first hearing is for a zoning map amendment requested by Dvora Kanegis, 7727 CR 150, Salida. If approved, the request would correct a 2014 re-zoning error, when the parcel was changed from industrial zoning to residential.

A second public hearing is set to review a minor subdivision sketch plan for El Rancho Vaquero, located at 28445 Gregg Drive, Buena Vista. The project, proposed by Shirley Graham, would divide 29.28 acres, (known as out-lot A) into three lots.

Following those two reviews, the planning commission will move on to consider whether to allow an amendment to the land use code for a retail center for medical/retail marijuana in the industrial zone.
