On Wednesday, Chaffee County 911 sent out phone and text messages to Chaffee County residents that the U.S. Forest Service is conducting a controlled burn between County Road 219 and County Road 240 near Mount Shavano.
Burning operations will continue for several days and smoke is a natural byproduct. Forest Service personnel will be monitoring the burn.
