The Front Range continues to be hungry for water. The Chaffee County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) will consider a stipulation in a water case filed by the Pueblo Board of Water Works seeking exchanges of Bessemer Ditch shares to points upstream through the County’s Recreational In-Channel Diversion (RICD) water right.
The case was continued from the Sept. 10 BoCC meeting.
The regular meeting of the BoCC begins at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept 17 in the Buena Vista School District Offices at 113 N.Court in Buena Vista.
Director of General Administration Bob Christiansen will present a memorandum of understanding and cooperative agreement among Chaffee, Lake and Park counties. The agreement establishes joint support of the Central Mountain Small Business Development Center, which is now headquartered in Salida. (See Sept. 12 story on the Central Mountain Small Business Development Center)
The agenda for the regular session appears relatively short including a boundary line adjustment, a lot line elimination, and a waiver of an annexation impact analysis report for the town of Buena Vista. That waiver involves a 13-acre parcel owned by Sangre de Cristo Electric Association, located at 297780 N U.S. 24.
Commissioners will consider a request for a letter of support for Colorado State Parks and Wildlife State Trails Program. The -support would focus on the 2020 Salida Ranger District Trail Maintenance Grant.
