Pure Greens, Colorado’s largest indoor cultivation and extraction facility based in Salida, announced Tuesday afternoon, April 9, that it has acquired its first Chaffee County-based cannabis retail center, Nature’s Medicine Recreational Dispensary. Located at 230 West 16th Street in Salida, Nature’s Medicine employs nine full-time staff members and has operated in Salida since 2009.

“Nature’s Medicine is a uniquely important addition to Pure Greens’ growing family of dispensaries. It is practically in our backyard and will be our only dispensary located in the community where our employees live, work and play,” says Sterling Stoudenmire, president & CEO of Pure Greens.

“It provides greater connection to the community and the opportunity for locals to experience our quality, consistency and innovation with truly competitive pricing,” added Stoudenmire. “We look forward to the opportunity to serve Salida and the surrounding areas as we continue in our mission of making Salida home to a world-class cannabis company that sets the standard nationwide.”

Pure Greens says its acquisition of Nature’s Medicine made sense because of their regional reputation for customer-care, knowledgeable and friendly staff, quality offerings and competitive pricing.

“We are thrilled to provide the same quality products and customer service at a larger capacity and with more competitive pricing,” said Peggy Samuelson general manager of Nature’s Medicine. “I want to stress that we are going to be the same but better!”

The benefits of the acquisition will be substantial for customers, partners and employees of Nature’s Medicine says Pure Greens, including substantial advantages in access to capital, supply chains, systems and greatly enhanced purchasing power. These advantages are expected to bring lower prices and a larger variety of products to the customers of Nature’s Medicine.

“Pure Greens brings a business savvy to the table that will compliment Nature’s reputation for customer service, ‘smoke local,’ shop local attitude as well as our shared records of compliance and care for our community,” says Tom Reynolds store manager at Nature’s Medicine. “This is an exciting time for Salida and Chaffee County residents, they are going to experience world-class value with a local mindset never before seen in this town!”

For its part, Pure Greens continues to invest in its state-of-the-art cultivation facilities, a 24-acre campus located at 7800 CR 152 in Smeltertown. It features state-of-the-art greenhouses that leverage advanced horticulture, automation and measurement technologies.

The Colorado Cannabis industry has grown into a more than $1.5 billion industry and continues to lead the way nationally as the bell weather state. As the industry continues to mature, it is beginning to consolidate through vertical integration. Pure Greens says its vision is to develop a cannabis industry powerhouse based in Salida that benefits the community and its people. It says it also plans to invest in increasing product variety and larger retail assortments, as well as continuous improvement of the Nature’s Medicine customer experience.

Nature’s Medicine joins Mile High Green Cross (852 N. Broadway in Denver) as the second dispensary in the Pure Greens’ growing portfolio of retail distribution.
