Ramps and Alleys Skate Shop is sponsoring a winter essay contest. To participate, write a 400-to-800-word essay answering one or all of the following questions:
- Why do I skate?
- How has skating changed my life?
- What are my skating goals?
Owner, Stacy Falk told Ark Valley Voice “Ramps and Alleys will host four essay contests per year to showcase how meaningful skating is in our lives. We also just want to find creative ways to get people off their cell phones; something the clubhouse strives to do through skating, arts and projects to better our community.”
The contest is open to all ages and all types of skating. The winner will receive a Rivertown Skateboard and will also be published in the Mountain Mail. The submission deadline is February 28. The winner will be announced March 5.
