Avalanche Excavating, working on a contract with the city of Salida, began road reconstruction of 5th Street between Poncha Boulevard and I Street on July 9.
This city of Salida project is expected to last into August and includes storm drainage, curbs and gutters, sidewalks and pavement improvements.
There will be periodic closures at the I Street intersection during this project. Pedestrians will be able to access the Monarch Spur Trail crossing whenever feasible.
The Salida Department of Public Works reminds the public that safety is a priority and patience is appreciated.
