For the second time in less than a year, the Chaffee County Republican Central Committee has elected a new county chair. In a press release in the past week, they announced the election of Kathy Rogers to the chairmanship, She replaces Alan Seeling, who resigned as Chair of the Chaffee County Republican Party on July 20, 2022, after taking on the role in October, 2021.
Rogers won with overwhelming support. She proposes a simple vision for the Republican Party here in Chaffee County: Growth of the Party by making it one with which more people want to get involved.
“My goal is to build a team that represents all of us in the Republican Party and not just special interest groups,” said Rogers. “We need to establish our common goals and work towards them. We will not always agree 100 percent with one another, but we must work those differences out and once we have a consensus, present a unified front. We have much more in common with each other and our common goals than we do our differences.”
In a message from the Chaffee County Republican Central Committee, they invite all registered Republicans to their upcoming monthly meeting in Salida on August 8. Those interested in attending should contact a local member for more information regarding times and location.
At this meeting, Rogers will lead a brainstorming session to develop actionable steps to fulfilling what they reference as “their primary purpose, getting Republicans elected to office.”
