The deadline to submit an application for the vacant Ward 1 Salida City Council seat is 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30.
A statement posted Monday night to the city of Salida website outlines the timeline for filling the vacancy as well as requirements for potential applicants.
Applications for the opening are available on the city of Salida website. Applicants must complete the application and submit it with a resume or letter of interest to Lynda Travis at email@example.com or in person at Salida City Hall in the Touber Building, 448 E. First St.
To qualify for the position, interested parties must have resided in Ward 1 for at least 12 consecutive months.
According to the online statement, City Council members plan to conduct interviews for the open seat at the 6 p.m. Dec. 3 City Council work session.
Council will then appoint the new Ward 1 representative at the regular Dec. 18 City Council meeting.

The seat in question was vacated when Rusty Granzella resigned following his election to the Chaffee County Board of Commissioners.
