After a year’s hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 Salida Art Walk was a successful return, even with the mixed bag of weather. Participants had fun creating art and supporting local artists at galleries, pop-up displays, as well as at the Mini Masterpiece auction.

Chairperson Leslie Jorgensen explained “Our team was so pleased to bring Salida Art Walk back this year. Everyone seemed to have lots of fun with community art projects, sidewalk chalk painting, art shopping, and really just coming together as a community.”

She continued “The artists I spoke with had great sales and our Mini Masterpiece benefit auction raised $3,255 for Salida Council for the Arts. There was music in the air and performances in the park. Overall I’d say it was a huge success in a pretty mellow package.”

“I’d like to personally thank everyone who participated and supported our local artists, especially our volunteer team. Special thanks to High Country Bank for their financial support and to Chaffee County Public Health, the City of Salida, Box of Bubbles and the Salida SteamPlant for their guidance and assistance.”
