This would allow for all businesses, not just restaurants and bars, to occupy certain public spaces as appropriate, while practicing and enhancing social distancing and operating in open-air conditions to limit the potential spread of COVID-19.

The city says that it is committed to discussing these options with businesses and finding solutions. This includes the upcoming closure of two blocks of F Street, planned for the morning of Monday, May 24. The closure is expected to remain in place for much of the summer.

To apply to use public property please fill out the City of Salida Application, remit a conceptual site plan, and return the signed Revocable License Agreement to the Clerk’s Office, 448 East First Street. Or email the plan to deputyclerk@cityofsalida.com or planning@cityofsalida.com.

The city is encouraging businesses to work with their neighbors to identify creative ways in which to collaborate on complementary goods, services, and attractions, adding interest to even more locals and visitors. It notes that the Salida business community is what makes Salida unique, dynamic and authentic and it encourages collaboration.
