The Salida Chamber of Commerce is hosting a free presentation centered on giving a voice to business owners around issues that impact our rural county and community. The two-hour session will take place starting with a catered light breakfast at 8 a.m. on Thursday, January 16 at the Rotary Scout Hut, 210 East Sackett Ave. in Salida.
Good Business Colorado will be presenting information on prospective bills that will be considered in the 2020 legislative session, such as the Colorado FAMLI ACT which would create a state paid medical leave program for employees. Other issues to be covered in the presentation include healthcare, economic issues, education and environmental issues.
This gathering will allow business owners to weigh in on the issues that impact local businesses and this community. It presents a key opportunity for local involvement in statewide politics that otherwise might be largely driven by Colorado Front Range priorities.
The event has limited space and the Salida Chamber of Commerce is asking that those interested, RSVP a space by calling the chamber at (719) 539-2068 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
