The Salida City Council has a packed agenda for their regular meeting tonight, Tuesday, April 18, at 6:00 p.m.: it appears it will slide right by a few amplified sound permits for local establishments, although in the past amplified sound has been a controversial topic.

Consent Agenda and Amplified Sound Permits

The consent agenda includes seven special event approvals, including for FIBArk, Art Walk, and the Brewer’s Rendezvous; three public hearings, two of which are for Tres Litros and High! Side Bar & Grill, both seeking Amplified Sound Permits.

These hearings held before the full council are required for sound permits ahead of the regular summer season (which is handled under Administrative review).

Liquor License

Sitting as the Liquor Licensing Authority, one hearing is for a new hotel and restaurant license for Mexico Tradicional at 509 East Hwy 50.

New Business

Under New Business is a review and proposal to award the 2023 Chaffee County Community Grant requests. The proposed amount for 2023 is $96,277, which is within the budgeted framework. Also under consideration are Resolutions 2023-18 and 2023-19, appointing citizen members to city commissions and boards, and Resolution 2023-20 approving overnight camping and dogs in Marvin Park for a dog agility event.

Executive Session

Following a motion to go into Executive Session, members of the council will consider the City Administrator’s annual performance evaluation.
