With the Salida City Council Coordinated Election coming up Nov. 2 , the last question asked to City Council was “what question have we not asked that is top of mind for why you are running for city council?”

Harald Kasper’s Answer:

“The city’s ability to act is very much linked to a healthy budget that puts a significant focus on a qualified and passionate staff to actually do the work. So, I will definitely keep an eye on that.

As an attractive town, that sees a lot of people coming through, I believe we have a task to be an example for forward-thinking to benefit from the multiplication principle (Visitors returning home and following the principles at home that they got infected with here in Salida). Those creative solutions should include energy-saving measures, trash reducing tools, creative housing solutions and community creating practices.”

Adam Martinez’s Answer:

“I am running for city council because I have lived in Salida for 39 years and I went to Salida High School. I graduated in 1996 and I have worked at Walmart, Safeway, Dominos, McDonalds, and Sonic.

The main reason I am running because the city is going in the wrong direction we are not doing enough for affordable housing, job growth, transportation, addressing the panhandlers, gun violence, getting new city attorneys, and a new city manager and not closing the streets because it hurt the Salida business community and working with the business community, and making Salida a better place to live and work.”

Dominique Naccarato’s Answer:

“Nobody has really asked what it means for my family that I’m running for city council.

While many have been thankful to me for choosing to take on this responsibility, my family is also taking on the responsibility. Chris Naccarato, my husband and best friend, is a balanced and rational individual, and I count him among my wisest advisors. Buy that guy a beer if you see him out and about!”
