At 6 p.m. on August 4, during the regular meeting of the Salida City Council, the council will hold a public hearing on Resolution 2020-27,  the proposed Community Development Block Grant application. If approved, the application would authorize the mayor to execute required documents and agreements for the Salida Ridge Apartments (formerly known as Confluent Park Apartments).

The new proposal is for 48 new,  one to three-bedroom apartments for those in the 30-50 percent average median income (AMI) earnings bracket. The project will help address the critical need for workforce housing in the county.

The council will discuss two new action items: Resolution 2020-28, approving the development agreement for the Salida RV Resort and Resolution 2020-29, adopting the Salida Airport Master Plan and Airport Layout Plan for Harriet Alexander Field.

The council will formally push back discussion surrounding Ordinance 2020-10 and 2020-11, via a continuance until August 18. As previously reported by Ark Valley Voice these ordinances would allow for rezoning from Single-Family to Medium Density in property owned by the City of Salida as well as a vacation of a portion of East Crestone Avenue.

Council will also vote to extend the State of Local Emergency COVID-19 action plan implementation.

Due to COVID-19 and health regulations, the meeting will be held via GoToMeeting. To pre-register click here.
