As previously reported by Ark Valley Voice, the city conducted a survey regarding both the community and business’s feelings surrounding the F Street closure. The council will review the results and discuss how to move forward.

Staff is interested in receiving feedback from the Council with respect to future streetscape goals surrounding the County Courthouse and how improvements can be made.

Lastly, the council will discuss whether to eliminate the CORA log (short for Colorado Open Records Act). Some feel the log may cause some individuals to feel less comfortable making an open record request. The CORA log is a spreadsheet in which the City Clerk enters details of each open record request made to the City of Salida.

Editor’s Note: the original article included an incorrect reference, which has been corrected. The last sentence of the final paragraph of this story refers to the process that the City of Salida uses regarding the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) inquiries.  The intended reference was meant to be the CITY Clerk or Deputy CITY Clerk as Salida CORA requests have no bearing on the County of Chaffee.

This oversight got past the copy editor and Ark Valley Voice apologies for any confusion or concerns this may have caused and thanks its readers for catching this.
