Starting at 6 p.m. on October 5, Salida City Council will host a work session in which they will cover a variety of topics. The first discussion item is a presentation of the Financial Management Plan, then move on to discuss open items for the 2021 budget. The council will review a letter about plastics recycling and a suggestion on how the county should move forward.

The council will then go on to a discussion surrounding basketball court lights at Alpine Park. A petition has been brought forward by local youths to keep the courts open till 9:30 p.m. Council will watch a presentation by PFCA’s Advocacy Lab and Elected Officials Microsite.

Finally, Council members will review applications to fill the two, open alternate positions for Planning Commission. The vacancies were created by the resignation of Matt Chambers and the promotion of Michelle Walker to a regular role on July 7, 2020. City Council has received three applications for the planning commission and will review them during the work session.
