Following the Consent Agenda and Citizen Comment, Council members will  hear a final reading and conduct a public hearing on Ordinance 2022-07, which will amend sections of the Municipal Code, increasing penalties and eliminating possible penalties of imprisonment for certain offences, in alignment with current Colorado statutes.

The main topic for the session will be Resolution 2022-14, which if approved would again close portions of F Street during the summer months to allow for a pedestrian plaza, street dining, music, shade and other amenities.  Now in its third summer season, the F Street Pedestrian Plaza received support at a recent Salida Business Alliance meeting as well as an 80 percent favorable vote from the 1,220 respondents to the March, 2022 City of Salida Community Survey.

At the Salida City Council Work Session on April 18,  Council members discussed possible minor changes to the F Street project.  These included shortening the season to just before Memorial Day through Labor Day as well as not including the half-block of F Street from 2nd to 3rd Street due to traffic issues and  a lack of vibrancy there.

In addition, FIBArk organizers were asked to report on a brainstorming session held earlier about how to accommodate a FIBArk parade route, working around the street closure.  Council expects to iron out the details of all these considerations at the  meeting tonight so that businesses can begin their planning.

The regular session continues with Resolution 2022-15, making appointments to the Salida Tree Board.  At the work session the night before, Council interviewed four of five candidates present, vying for three open seats on the newly expanded Board.

The regular session will conclude after hearting reports from Council, the Mayor, Treasurer, Attorney and Staff.  At that point, Council will hear a motion to go into Executive Session.  The purpose of that session is to conduct the annual performance evaluation of the City Administrator, an item held over from April 5.
