Following a special Joint Work Session with the Town of Poncha Springs beginning at 5 p.m., at the SteamPlant Annex Tuesday, December 3, the Salida City Council will meet for their regular meeting at 6 p.m. in the Touber Building.

Among the items on the agenda for the Salida City Council Regular Meeting is the final public hearing of Resolution 2019-62 adopting the 2020 Budget. The Salida City Council will invite the public to weigh in with their thoughts on the final, proposed budget. This is the culmination of a process that has taken place since early 2019 when Council established budget priorities at their retreat.
Following the Council’s strategic retreat, the Salida City Council was presented a Proposed Draft Budget on October 7. On October 15, the budget became available for public inspection and budget work sessions began starting October 14, followed by another on November 4 and again, on December 2.
Public hearings were held as part of the 2020 Budget Hearing process which took place on November 19 and will be continued tonight, December 3. Discussion will be had among council members following the final public hearing and a presentation from Finance Director Aimee Tihonovich.
Other items of public importance also on the agenda for the regular meeting tonight include; a public hearing on proposed Ordinance 2019-17, which is amending Chapter 16 of the Salida Municipal Code regarding multiple principal structures.
