For the first work session of the New Year, the Salida City Council will reconvene for a joint work session with the Planning Commission at 6 p.m. on Monday, January 6. This will be followed by the regular Salida Council meeting beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 7.

The joint work session tonight involves a request to abandon a right-of-way, which constitutes a Major Impact Review. It also requires a conceptual review with the City Council and Planning Commission, a hearing and recommendation by the Planning Commission, and final approval by the Salida City Council.

Aaron and Hannah Peyrouse have submitted the application to abandon a portion of the East 6th Street right-of-way. The right-of-way is located along East 6th Street and Teller Street which was realigned a few years prior to their request. The proposed action will include abandonment of the 1,487 square foot right-of-way to Aaron and Hannah Peyrouse.

Other items on the agenda for the work session are discussions with regard to the low income housing tax credit project and an adoption of Bob’s Rules of Order, a streamlined version of Robert’s Rules of Order.

A conversation on the Aquatic Center pool temperatures will also be revisited in this work session.
