The Salida City Council (SCC) will hold a regular meeting tonight beginning at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, in Council Chambers at the Touber Building, 448 E. First Street. A complete agenda, agenda packet, and instructions for remote meeting access, can be found here.
On the agenda under Unfinished Business are public hearings and second readings on two ordinances:
- 2024-02, approving an agreement with Interstate Parking Management for the implementation of a parking plan for downtown and beyond;
- 2024-03, which would alter the Short-Term Rental (STR) room tax rate from $15 per night, as approved by voters in 2022 and 2023, to $10 per night. The STR room tax, as well as STR license fees, is allocated to the city’s affordable housing fund.
Under New Business, the SCC will consider resolutions on an amended pre-annexation agreement with the Salida School District for the property at 627 Oak Street; citizen appointments to the Sustainability Committee; an amendment to Resolution 2023-42, certifying delinquent charges or other charges related to taxes owed to Chaffee County; and authorizing a lease agreement with the FIBArk Community Paddling Program for the FIBArk Boathouse.
Also on the agenda are a proclamation for Black History Month and an Executive Session to do with city water rights and credits.
