Last, the Council will discuss adding a K-9 unit to the department. For the last two years, the department has been actively working on pairing the right officer and the right canine.

The department says that it has done extensive research and is specifically looking for a K-9 animal that can do Search and Rescue as well as drug interdiction. They were looking for the friendliest, non-aggressive police dog they could find. After a long search, they found “Sarge”.

Due to COVID-19 and current health guidelines, the meeting will be held via GoToMeeting. To preregister, click here.
