The Salida City Council holds a work session this evening, Monday, September 18, at 6:00 p.m. in Council chambers at the Touber Building, 448 E. First Street.

On the agenda is a “conceptual review” of a proposed campsite at 1-3 Hillside Drive, just north of the Arkansas River and Calco Road. This is a revision of a plan first proposed in 2021.

Also on the agenda is a first look at the City’s 2024 budget, and two discussion items relating to the new fire station: a Certificate of Participation (COP) sale, as a means of financing it, and the construction contract with Neenan Archistruction.

Interim City Administrator Christy Doon will be reviewing the history of the contract, including the changes to a heating/cooling system made to the original plan when it became apparent that the original concept of a geothermal system was not going to pan out.

An agenda and Board packet for the work session can be found here. Remote access to the meeting can be found on the City’s YouTube Channel here.
