For two hours on Wednesday evening, October 4, some of the candidates for the important positions of Salida City Council and Salida Treasurer participated in a Salida City Election Candidate Forum co-sponsored by Truth Has a Voice Foundation/Ark Valley Voice (AVV) and the League of Women Voters of Chaffee County (LWVCC). The session was held in the Salida City Council chambers.
Readers can follow the link below to view all or parts of the forum, conducted by moderator and Ark Valley Voice Publisher/Managing Editor Jan Wondra. In addition to questions from AVV, questions were made by members of the public, both online and attending in person.
Note: Vimeo limits videos to 2 hours in length. The Candidate Forum ran about two minutes overtime, so the video trails off on the final responses and closing remarks by AVV.
These are the candidates who attended the forum:
City Council — Ward 2 candidates:
Adriane Kuhn
Aaron J Stephens
City Council Ward 3 candidates
Jackie Berndt
Alisa Pappenfort
City Treasurer
Wayles Martin
Ben Gilling
Not every candidate running for election participated. Mayor Dan Shore running for re-election unopposed, chose not to attend. Neither did Suzanne Fontana (running unopposed for Ward 1)
Thanks for hosting such an important look at the candidates. Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be a link to the video in this article.
Here’s the link to the video I found on Vimeo- https://vimeo.com/user102070910
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The hosting platform has had some issues of late and the link is now restored. Please note: we only post comments with a verifiable, safe domain and full first and last name, not a screen name.
