Monarch Mountain commissioned local artist, Nancy Kay to create a painting that links the City of Salida to Monarch Ski Resort. After the original artwork was used for advertising the 2020-2021 ski season, Monarch donated the original painting to the Salida Council for the Arts.
The painting will be auctioned off and all proceeds will benefit Salida Council for the Arts, a nonprofit art organization.
The mission of the Salida Council for the Arts is to enrich the cultural life of the community by nurturing and supporting excellence in arts, increase awareness of and appreciation for the arts, to promote and encourage arts education, and to serve as a liaison between arts, business, government, and educational institutions.
The original painting is currently on display daily, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.at the Salida Monarch Outpost, 123 North F Street in Salida.
