The Salida School District announced Sunday evening that the Salida Early Childhood Center (SECC) will be closed from August 29 through September 1 primarily due to cases of COVID-19 among the staff.

“Impacted parents have already been contacted, however, we felt it was important for the community to know that COVID is still impacting our school system,” said Salida School District Communications Assistant Kim LeTourneau.

At least 15 staff members are on sick leave this week.   SECC will stay open for the kids of school district staff so other campuses can remain open.

School nurses remind the community that if you or your student has a sore throat, fever, cough, headache, or malaise, testing is available for COVID and strep throat. If you are sick, please seek testing and follow guidelines to stay home until you are no longer contagious.
