The 2022 Salida Fiber Festival is accepting entries for its seventh annual Fiber Art Exhibition. The show will open during the weekend of the festival, Sept. 9-11, and continue throughout September.
Fiber art will be mounted in the Paquette Gallery at the Salida SteamPlant and will feature original designs in all forms of fiber art.
“In an effort to show the diverse range of local talent, this non-juried show is open to fiber artists residing within 50 miles of Salida or 2022 festival vendors”, said organizer Jane Templeton.
“The show aims for artist inclusiveness and variety. Submissions must be original designs in all forms of fiber art; including knitting, weaving, sewing, crocheting, beading, dyeing, and stitching”, she added.
Time is of the essence
Unlike other shows where as long as you make the final deadline, you’re OK; not so with this exhibition. Only the first 40 entries will be considered.
“So pick you’re best new unseen work from the last two years or hurry and finish the last touches on the one on your work table”, concluded Templeton.
Rules for entry can be found on the festival website, as well as entry forms. There are cash prizes for the top three places in the People’s Choice voting, held during the opening weekend.
Finally, interested artists must indicate their commitment to participate by August 10. You’re asked to send application and fees to: Salida Fiber Festival, P.O. Box 442, Salida, CO 81201 and Email bio and large size photos. Questions may be directed to Jane Templeton.
