Tuesday morning, Aug. 27  Salida City Clerk Sonia Walter announced the candidates for Salida City Council, who will be running in the 2019 Salida city election. The cutoff for the city to receive candidate nomination petitions was 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26.

Walter certified that the petitions received having obtained the sufficient number of signatures to be on the ballot for the November election. Candidates were also verified as meeting eligibility requirements to run for the offices they have indicated, including that they live in the ward for which they are running.

The following candidates will be on the Nov. 2019 ballot:

– P.T. Wood for Mayor

– Merrell Bergin for City Treasurer

– Jane Templeton for Ward 1

– Mike Pollock for Ward 2

– Alisa Pappenfort for Ward 3

Jane Templeton was appointed to the Council to fill the vacancy left by Rusty Granzella, which expires in 2019.

Cheryl Brown-Kovacic’s term also expires in 2019 and will not be running again. Mike Bowers is term-limited in 2019.

Dan Shore, Justin Critelli’s and Harald Kasper’s terms do not expire until 2021.
