The Salida Parks and Recreation Department will host their annual Touch-a-Truck event from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on May 15 at Vandaveer Ranch.
To get to the event, as you leave Salida eastbound on U.S. 50, turn right, just before you reach Big O Tires onto County Road 104. Continue until you reach a left-hand turn in the road and the entrance will be right there.
This year will feature the REACH helicopter along with much other fun and exciting pieces of big machinery.
From 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. the event will be “horn-free” so those who wish to see the vehicles without horns or sirens can still participate. The “horn-free” timeframe will be strictly enforced.
