The Salida Public Art Commission held a meeting on February 10 where they decided on a possible site* for their upcoming project. Board members plans to meet with the Salida City Council to ask them to set aside the land they need. Currently, board members are creating between one and three sketches with potential ideas for the space that they plan to discuss in their next meeting.

Members are also gathering estimates for costs on preparing the space for art. The board hopes the space will not only be used for art but will become a place for the community to gather in the years to come for possible events, which may help fund Salida Public Art Commission work in the future.

Commission members say they plan to meet with Council in early March present their ideas and request them to set aside the land.

*Editor Note: The location of the site will be released in upcoming articles, once the board has a chance to present their plan to City Council.
