The Salida School Board will host a special meeting at 6 p.m. July 28, to discuss the Partnership Programming to support school opening plan, explain the block schedule and review the district’s financial planning document.

The board will also vote on the Superintendent’s recommendation to open fall classes in the green mode — with in-person instruction if conditions continue to remain stable.

For months the administration and board have been fine-tuning how they will reopen in the fall. During their last meeting, no final decisions were made and they adopted what could be called a “wait and see” position. But as August approaches, tonights meeting should finalize how Salida schools will look this fall.

Also, on the agenda is approving Internet hots pots to help students learn in case remote learning will once again be required. The board will vote to approve the budget for the 50 hot spots. The Board will also vote on HVAC filter improvement costs.
