The Salida School Board will hold a special meeting beginning at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 27, to approve the motion to notify the county clerks office that the school board intends to certify one or more ballot issues for the upcoming November election.

The main intention of the meeting will be to decide how to present a ballot question, around a potential Colorado Mountain College Tax District Annexation question for the Salida School District.

Also in question, whether to frame a bond measure to address the continued enrollment growth in the school district.

The Salida School District will need to determine if presenting both ballot questions at the same November election would be wise, or if it should wait with at least one of them until the November 2020 election. Further discussion will provide information to Superintendent David Blackburn with regards to election preparation.

The Salida School Board will also vote to approve the appointment of Jeff Post, to fill the District 5 vacancy.
