The Salida School District is inviting the community to the retirement party for Longfellow Elementary School Principal Chuck McKenna. McKenna started with Salida Schools nine years ago; in fact he was on the team that opened the new Longfellow Elementary School building in its current location.
The celebration party is set for 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 19 on the lawn at Longfellow Elementary School.
The event is open to friends and student families and to students both past and present.
The celebration will include music, a few speeches, a celebration cake and “light hors d’oeuvres”. Given this is the end of the school year, it may well include a bit of student silliness, but that is to be expected, and will be something that those who know McKenna would probably say he will enjoy.
