Due to the coronavirus known as COVID-19, Salida’s Fourth of July celebration will look a little different this year. But the planned events will include activities for everyone and spread people around the town to help maintain social distancing.

The City of Salida invites you to flaunt your mask and join in their mask and costume contest. To qualify, take a photo of your mask/costume and tag @Salidabusinessalliance on Facebook or Instagram.

Along with this theme, the Salida Business Association (SBA) will host the following events:

  • Chalk Art in Alpine Park from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Stationary Mas(k)querade Parade from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Lights with Bikes at 9 p.m. (Click here for Bike parade route)

There will be food and drinks available at restaurants and bars throughout Salida as well as shopping opportunities at local stores. The SBA encourages participants to “Shop, Eat, Enjoy the Promenade.”

People can pre-register for the Chalk Art event in Alpine Park by emailing your name and contact information to SBAsalida@gmail.com.

At dusk on the 4th of July, the city of Salida will put on its annual fireworks display on Tenderfoot Mountain; a location which can  be seen all over the city from safe vantage points. Its message to residents and visitors; have a safe and happy 4th of July weekend, so it is reminding all participants to practice social distancing and wear a facemask.
