The Chaffee Housing Authority (CHA) is hosting its first-ever House Party from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 22 at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds. You’re invited to mingle with local housing professionals while hearing the latest from CHA on their strategic plan to meet workforce housing needs.
“This event will be an excellent opportunity to learn about the organizations in our community who are contributing to housing solutions, hear success stories, and ask questions, all while enjoying music, food, and friends.” said Becky Gray, Director of Chaffee Housing Authority.
Food and music will be provided and a cash bar will be available. The event is free to the public but registration is required. You may also RSVP to Becky Longberg at 719-530-2590.
The Chaffee County Fairgrounds are located at 10165 County Road 120 in Salida.

The housing issue is caused by the flippers now running the town and the short term rentals and was intentional. This group seeks not to take the housing back from those who took it, but to take quality of life away from those already suffering from the same gentrification that caused this problem. Why should we trust these people to do anything but take more money and cost us more quality of life? Honesty from this group is mandatory and I would surely be suspicious. Providing slave quarters and disrupting the lives of residents with work camps and feeding the developers and exploiters is not the way to go.
