A message that gladdens the hearts of students – the declaration of a real “Snow.”

Salida School District is closed today, Wednesday, February 2, 2022 because of snow and weather. The school district notes that this is a traditional snow day. Schools are closed, the administrative offices are closed, and students do not need to report for classes – in person or remote.

As the snow continues to fall across central Colorado and the Front Range, hundreds of schools, public buildings, libraries, and churches have declared they are closed. The massive storm, stretching some 2,000 miles from the Rocky Mountains through the Midwest, is expected to dump as much as 20 inches on the plains. With warmer temperatures being pushed ahead of the massive front, the Midwest might see an ice storm.  It is expected to clear out of Colorado by the end of the day.
