The City of Salida and the Salida Department of Parks and Recreation invites the community to the opening and dedication of Sonia’s Garden at the Touber Building from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14.
The garden contains many elements, each of which were inspired by the life of former City Clerk Sonia Walter, who died in a tragic car accident last year.
The celebration will include explanations of the Community Garden, Composting Station, and Meditation Garden by the community partners who are making each element possible. Light refreshments will be served.
The garden is located at the corner of West First Avenue and C Street in Salida.
