We knew it was coming. Next week for approximately three days, Chaffee County residents can expect a traffic impact at the intersection of U.S. 50 and U.S. 291. Motorists can expect brief delays in Salida next week at that intersection.
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be performing survey work on the southeast end of Salida, August 1-3 at this intersection as CDOT begins planning to improve the intersection.
Motorists should anticipate full stops and up to 10-minute delays at the intersection of E. Rainbow Boulevard (U.S. Highway 50) and Oak Street (CO 291). Old Stage Road (CR 105) will also have blocked access at times.
CDOT is reminding motorists to watch for construction crews, heavy equipment, and flaggers guiding traffic during survey operations and to open the flagger directions.
